Small complaints aside, this is a great listen, and I’m looking forward to the next fifteen years of bands and shows. Booking DIY shows around the state, and Providence proper until 2007 when AS220 and other legit venues around town took notice. The only thing missing from this LP for me was a track from Philadelphia’s Ordinary Lives, one of my favorite bands on the label in recent years. Tor Johnson Records has been servicing the RI metal, hardcore, and indie scene since 2002. Opening with Saint Jude’s “A Mightier Disaster,” followed by Tyler Daniel Bean’s “Gardening & Everything Involved Therein,” takes you through how wide the scope of TJR’s catalogue can be in only the space of two songs. With ten bands on this record playing a variety of sounds, there’s sure to be something to catch the ear of a curious listener.

The author ads 'Supposedly yanked due to an implied alien-human gangbang in the girls locker room.' First off - yuck. This LP features newcomer and veteran label bands alike. Find out about movie actor Tor Johnson: Age, What he did before fame. allegedly has Tor Johnson leading a skull-capped band of Martians who impersonate a high school car club.
In the review for the ten year anniversary 7”, I wrote that “Tor Johnson Records has been a consistently great label, not only because of the great bands and releases they’ve put out over the years, but because of founder Paul Dechichio’s unflagging dedication to his local scene and community.” Bands on the label may have come and gone, but Dechichio’s dedication remains unabated.
